Marvel’s Spider-Man’s announcement: Miles Morales was one of the best bombings we saw at last week’s PS5 event. Since then, some controversy has been generated and doubts have arisen about whether it will be a Marvel’s Spider-Man expansion, a remastering or a totally new game.

Although a few days ago we tried to clarify the issue a little, Brian Horton, creative director of Insomniac Games, wanted to specify a little more that we can expect from this title, in addition to taking the opportunity to provide more information about it. What he has wanted to assure is that it will be a completely new adventure, although something shorter than a normal game, in the same style as Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

The fact of choosing Miles Morales as the new Spider-Man was something that the team had already been contemplating for some years and in the end it was decided that he would play his own game. This will result in players continuing to tour New York City, but with new scenarios, villains and missions to complete.

The plot will take place a year after Marvel’s Spider-Man, at a time when it is winter, the city is covered with snow and there has been a war between an energy corporation and a high-tech criminal army. Miles’ house in Harlem is at the center of this whole situation, so he will not stand idly by to restore order.

On the other hand, Horton has stated that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will take advantage of all the potential of PS5 to load all the scenarios instantly, in addition to giving the visual section an impressive appearance thanks to ray-tracing. It will also employ the 3D audio and the capabilities of the DualSense controller, while the city itself has been updated with all these new features.

The launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales is initially scheduled for this Christmas, but it is not yet certain that it will be part of the initial PlayStation 5 catalog, which is also supposed to go on sale in stores by the end of the year.
